Forbidden Love Lead to a Tragic Death

By Christina A.

*Introduction*
The bitter enmity of two parties
During the Venetian Renaissance in fair Verona
From their pointless hatred that started way back
Where everyone never gets enough blood on their hands
From the roaring conflict between these two foes
Forbidden love makes one suicidal
For both parent's hatred towards each other keep them apart
Which their deaths lead to peace
And the end of the quarel of both parties

Romeo Montague is the heir of the Montague clan. Romeo is 16 years young. Romeo is a skilled swordsman. Romeo is great friends with Mercutio. Romeo loved Rosaline, a niece of Lord Capulet. However, in return for Romeo’s love, Rosaline rejected Romeo. But Romeo falls in love again with Juliet. I believe Romeo is one of those growing young men trying to be heroic and smooth for the ladies and is new to relationships which make them seem serious about it although they are just under the spell of puppy love.

Juliet is the daughter of Lord and Lady Capulet. Juliet is forced to marry Paris for Paris is a wealthy gentleman. However, Juliet does not want to marry Paris for Juliet is just 12 years young. Juliet meets Romeo and both fall deeply in love. However, it is impossible for them to be together for Romeo is a Montague and Juliet is a Capulet. I believe Juliet is a quiet clueless young lady growing up and is still starting to know the world around her.
“I just got one thing to say to this”, says Juliet’s nurse from the Capulet party, “If only Romeo was not banished from Verona, Juliet wouldn’t have intended to play dead just to escape and runaway with Romeo. Though I heard, the priest was responsible on coming up with the plot. Either way, I believe what both Romeo and Juliet did was a foolish unguided mistake.”

" It was too late. Romeo was too stuborn to be stopped, thinking Romeo knew everything and his doings," said Benvolio. "Nobody knew it was going to end like this. It just happened."

The priest is responsible for the plot. It was the priest's idea to put Juliet to sleep, which mistakenly is the reason of Romeo's death, and followed by Juliet's. Though the priest would not face a death sentence, the priest is to be imprisoned in the dark dungeons of the Capulet house for five years.

My Views On Euthanasia

I believe there is nothing wrong with euthanasia. Euthanasia may be similar to abortion and is also considered murder but it is less painful. Unlike, abortion, euthanasia does not malevolently kill the person. It is never an obscene way of taking someone's life. It may put others in a heavy burden but euthanasia is the practice of getting rid of someone's life on purpose. So if people plan "mercy killing" on a suffering loved one, they should be prepared on what restless emotions they would feel. I think euthanasia is a good way on ending someone from pain, suffering, and other unbearable reasons. Without euthanasia, a big percentage of people are probably more depressed, worried, and not at peace; the hospitals would probably be congested with patients with coma or other problems where euthanasia is supposedly needed. It plays an important role to our society because it is never used for bad. It is important for patients who never wake up and is under a coma for the rest of their lives, some of the patients' relatives would apply euthanasia and get done with it - no omissions to worry about. If someone would apply for euthanasia, it is tacitly understood that he or she knows was he's doing and I think we all have the right to decide things on our own so therefore euthanasia is not a horroble thing yet it is obscurely uncategorized as a good or bad process.

"Mercy" Killing

1. Reflecting on Of Mice and Men

a. Explain George's perspective for what he did to Lennie.

I believe George's point of view towards killing Lennie is about how it would be less painful to see Lennie die thinking of positive things like tending the rabbits, compared to letting him have a tragic and painful death. He thought that if he did not kill Lennie himself, Lennie will be killed by Curley's men, which is worse. As George looks back, he won't remember Lennie dying in misery and despair, and that would make him less upset.

b. Do you think that was the best thing to do for Lennie?

I believe it was the best thing for Lennie. It may sound dark for me to think it is but If you think about it, Lennie is still going to get hurt if he was kept alive. George did not want to see Lennie getting beat up or killed by Curley so he had to get rid of Lennie himself. I think George did the right thing.

2. Father in Italy Accused of Murder

a. Using a "quote" to support your response, explain the father's reasons for what he did.

"Late last year, 67-year-old Beppino Englaro, won an intense 10-year legal battle to allow his daughter's feeding tubes to be removed, saying that was her wish."
- I think the father removes his daughter's feeding tubes because he thinks it was pointless to keep her alive in pain. Sometimes it is better if someone is dead instead of suffering in pain. What he did was not murder, he was only preventing his daughter from suffering and tried to end the pain.

b. Using a "quote" to support your response, explain if that was the best thing to do for the
daughter.

-
."The court accepted that before the accident, his daughter had expressed a preference for dying over being kept alive artificially."
I believe his daughter also wanted it. I think her daughter also thought that being kept alive suffering is hard. If someone is meant to die then they are meant to die. Feeding tubes are the things that prevent death. I guess she would prefer going on what was planned for her.

c. Do you agree or disagree with what the father did? Why?

Even though my opinions above agree about it, I have to agree that removing the feeding tubes were a mistake. What if his daughter just fell into a deep coma and wakes up years later? I believe he should have waited a bit longer until he was sure there was no more hope.

I believe Louis from the film "Interview with the Vampire" (1994), plays a good Ralph. I pick him because like Ralph, he posseses a sense of innocence and wisdom inside him. Louis is strong and brave. He stands up for him self and always does the right thing, even when it takes other people to over power him. Both characters share a lot in common, one example is that they stand up for what they truly believe in and not let other people get in their way.

I think the character of Lestat, played by Tom Cruise would make a good Jack. The character of Lestat has appeared in so many books and films, such as "Queen of the Dammed" and "Interview with the Vampire" where he was good friends with vampire Louis which then became his enemy.. Like Jack Merridew, Lestat is selfish and concieted. Lestat was known to rebel against whoever overpowers him and always wants to be on top. He is foolish and immature, therefore I believe he plays Jack best.

Renfield, the slave of Count Dracula would be a good match for the role of Piggy for he is the dork who everyone pushes around. He is not a vampire. Like Piggy, Renfield is just a sidekick and is always being bullied by everyone else. He is as weird and annoying like Piggy. Renfield is quite smart and makes sense of things (sometimes), but however, no one notices that side of him and focuses on how lame and stupid he is. Renfield's master, Dracula could not do without him for he does all the dirty work for his master, just like how Ralph is convinient to have Piggy around to keep him company when everyone else is gone.

Claudia from "Interview with the Vampire" would play Simon best because she is little and clueless just like Simon. Claudia is a confused vampire, wondering around not aware of things. She is dependent of her two uncles, Louis and Lestat, like how Simon depends on the big ones. However Claudia begins to stand up for herself and goes her own way, like how Simon became and left the big ones to climb the mountain by himself. Claudia and Simon share the same personality in terms of being the timid and innocent characters in the cast.

I pick the Joker from Batman to play Roger because the Joker is violent and does not care about his actions. The Joker kills people, even the ones he knew and doesn't care nor show emotion, just like how Roger murdered Piggy. People like Roger and the Joker are heartless and capable of killing almost everyone. Both characters are quite dangerous and cannot be trusted. Even though the Joker does not go with my "vampire-theme" I believe the Joker can make a good Roger.

"ONION" FIELD

----The vampires would be stuck in a little ranch in the middle of an onion field stretching over a hundred yards. The vampires cannot escape because they fear and are allergic to onions so they end up being stuck inside the little house without any humans to feed on except for Renfield. However none of the vampires are allowed to touch Renfield for he was Count Dracula's servant.
---- The beastie lives in the onion field and are waiting patiently for them to get out the little house.
----The presence and scent of the onions growing in the field are weakening the vampires unabling them to turn into bats to escape.
---- Renfield, being the only human is cabable of stepping out the house and to go get help but with the beastie waiting outside, Renfield cowers and can't go get help.

Heroshima

1.) Before the bombing, Heroshima was a beautiful and orderly place. Everything was in harmony. The city is peaceful and progressive. The people living in Heroshima were happy and stable. The city must have a big population.

2.) After the bombing, the city of Heroshima changed forever. It was ruined and destroyed, and will not be the same beauty place ever again. The shadows nand markings of ash from the explosion reminds the residents and the people of the tragic event which is very sad and upseting. It makes me feel bad for such a beautiful place to be ruined in a very violent way.

3.) These are the only remains of some of the tens of thousands of people and animals who died during the bombing. Just looking at the bones makes me feel bad and painful for the victims and their relatives. There are about hundreds of these remains found throughout the city of Heroshima after the bombing, others are still not identified. It must be painful for the relatives of these dead people to see their family member being vaporated in a fine morning unknowingly, like by the time they woke up they recieve a call that their friend or family was barbequed - ouch.
4.) Injured victims of the explosion suffered horrobile conditions and pain that is so unbearable I could not imagine how bad they must have felt. These victims had deep wounds and diformed organs and mutations that changed their lives forever. These poor people suffered miserably and lived a life full of pain and despair during the time they were still under treatments. It is very depressing to see innocent civilians getting into a situation like this. It must have been a nightmare, not only for them but for me for I am currently studying and seeing what really happened during the event and I learned a lot and kinda feel the victims' pain.

Pro-life

1.) I am against abortion. I think that abortion can hurt both the mother and her child because they use unusual methods during the procedure. Abortion is not something normal, some people (doctors perhaps) came up with the idea of murdering babies and let it appear more safe and professional so people would go say " Hey, let's go have sex anytime. If ever you get pregnant, we can get rid of it." Abortion makes us more irresponsible individuals. And for medical reasons, I think abortion is not healthy for the females, it is not something women should do. Seriously, if some mothers can't take care of the their child, or just hate having one, then just settle them somewhere safe where someone takes care of them - like the zoo. My point is that there are more other better options than abortion.

2.) " A person should accept the consequences of risks that she knowingly and willingly takes".

3.) A woman should be aware of the things she does. This means if she has intercourse, she should think twice or expect the possibility of something risky. A proper feminine lady would not go and do anything crazy whenever she wants to. Women have limits. Not only women should be concern about this, even men should take a major responsibility during what they do. Both genders should be aware. If they want to have intercourse, they should be responsible and mature enough to expect and take the consequences and risks if ever something happens after nine months.

4.) " The pregnancy endangers the life or health of the mother."

5.) Some abortion procedures are not very well performed risking the life of the irresponsible mother who aborts her child. This can cause so much pain and discomfort to the mother as well as to the fetus. About two-hundred women everyday are dying because of unsafe and unsuccessful abortion procedures. Abortion is a gory, bloody process.

2) This is about a pig racing and diving at a pig event. Diving into the water is part of the race.

3.) Even if you're afraid of something, you should face it to achieve your goal of winning a race. Porky here is a good example because pigs hate water but the pig still faces landing into water to go after his goal - winning.

4.) I can relate my life to this picture because there are times when I'm afraid of something but I have to try and overcome my fears just to get what I want. Like when I'm in school, I'm scared of crowds and congested places but I try to face it because its the only way I can learn and get good grades which is coming to school. Never give up just because something we are afraid of is stopping us from finishing the race. Fears and weaknesses are just obstacles that prevent us from going after our goals.
